Stephen and I are delighted to announce, one little miracle will be joining our family this upcoming May!

We got to hear the heart beat again today, my second time and my husband’s first, and I have to say that is the most incredible experience I have ever had.

Little baby Roo, nicknamed after the spunky kangaroo in Winnie the Poo, is totally a miracle in every sense and we are so thankful to already have been touched by this sweet, unborn life!

This past month has been one of the most difficult months of my life.  I have been unable to do much—completely unable to work, do laundry, or walk my dog and struggled to eat or even get out of bed most days.  It also has been a month where I have experienced God’s presence in my life more than ever before, so it has been a beautiful disaster in every sense.

To my friends all over the world, and my sweet mom, thank you for checking in on me everyday telling me to stay strong and praying for baby Roo.  To all of you who have prayed and will pray in the future, that means more to me than you will ever know and has been the one thing getting me through this very emotionally and physically difficult time.

With having type 1 diabetes, a very high risk situation for pregnancy, as well as a miscarriage this past spring, my heart has been filled with so much fear and I have actively had to trust in God and work through that fear every hour of the day.  I plan on talking much more on these two topics in the future when I am feeling better!

Thank you for your prayers and encouragement as well as being patient with me during this past very difficult month!  I am so excited to share more of this journey with you all!

Congratulations!!!! As a fellow Type 1 (due in January) I know how overwhelming it can be. There are a few resources out now that seem to make it a little easier, especially hearing other mom’s stories. My prayers are with you.
