In my mid-twenties, I was the “picture perfect” version of health.  On the outside, I looked and acted like I had it all together (because in my mind that is what I truly thought), but internally I was crumbling.

I ate a “practically perfect” gluten and grain free diet, exercised the right amount, had (and still have) a beautiful marriage, looked healthy and felt great, or at least I thought I felt great.

So why me? Why the girl that looked like she had it all together?  Why the girl that ate perfectly healthy?

Little did I know, I was suffering from adrenal fatigue.  I had all the classic symptoms like brain fog, panic attacks, migraines and exhaustion, but didn’t feel like my life was stressful in any way.  

What I didn’t realize was that little stress over time had added up to become really big stress.

This past year in February of 2017, I had a miscarriage, which rocked my world both physically and emotionally.  Through the sadness and loss, that I hope no one ever has to go through, I had a BIG wake up call, a wake up call I now see I desperately needed.

My pace of life was unattainable and had quickly spiraling out of control!

Each day, I hustled to do more-more-more, but at the end of the day didn’t see the results of my labor.  I kept thinking, one more social media post, one more project, one more cup of coffee and I will have made it.

Well, the answer does not lie in one more YES!  In fact, I now see it lies in saying NO, in re-focusing and taking the time to truly deal with the stress and adrenal fatigue that was plaguing my life.

When I look back, I realize that my adrenal fatigue had been brewing for a long time and my miscarriage was the defining moment when I realized I needed help, I needed to slow down.

Thankfully, I took my amazing nutrition training and combined that with a serious change in lifestyle.  In less than 6 months of being very faithful each day, I saw amazing results in my health, my relationships, my business, my energy and my contentment!

 

They key was realizing that doing less is actually doing more—more of what is best!
